La Maison Rosewood is an emergency shelter in Midland that provides support to abused and homeless women and their children. Domestic violence has increased sharply during the pandemic lockdowns.
In April 2021, the $15,000 donation from Guys Who Care North Simcoe was directed to the replacement of exterior fencing that would allow for outdoor recreation in a safe and secure environment. And sufficient was left over to also install children’s playground equipment.
In October 2023, the Shelter suffered a devastating sewage backup during the summer which impacted the entire lower floor and rendered much of it unusable. The Guys made a donation of $18,000 to pay for much of the desperately needed remediation work at the very busy shelter.
